Automation is not about replacing staff — it removes the tasks that do not need a human. A MOVO-X automated check-in kiosk handles data capture, queue assignment, insurance verification, and consent signature so reception staff focus on the 20% of interactions that genuinely need human judgment.
Manual check-in collapses at peak hours. When 15 patients arrive in 10 minutes, a single front-desk agent creates a 12-minute average wait. Automation absorbs that surge without adding headcount — and captures more complete, accurate data in the process.
Patients with bookings are matched instantly via QR, phone number, or name lookup. Check-in is a single confirmation tap — no re-entry of data already in the system.
Walk-ins complete a structured intake form, receive an acuity score, and are routed to the right doctor automatically. No staff involvement required for standard walk-in flow.
Real-time insurer API call at check-in. Eligibility status, deductible, and co-pay are attached to the visit record before the consultation starts.
Digital consent forms with e-signature. Time-stamped, patient-signed, and attached to the clinical record. Compliance rate jumps from ~70% on paper to 99% on kiosk.
Co-pay collection at check-in for clinics with upfront payment. Stripe, FPX, PayNow, and GrabPay integrated. Receipts printed and emailed automatically.
Check-in volume, peak hours, wait times, and no-show rate auto-generated and emailed to clinic management at day close. No manual reporting.
60% reduction in front-desk data-entry workload
Insurance eligibility confirmed before every consultation
Consent compliance reaches 99% vs ~70% on paper
Surge capacity: 15 simultaneous arrivals without queue formation
Automated check-in uses an event-driven architecture. Every kiosk action triggers a real-time event dispatched to queue management, EMR, insurance API, and payment processor in parallel. Queue display updates within 300 ms of a new check-in. Doctor-room display updates within 500 ms of queue position change. The pipeline is fully idempotent — duplicate events are deduplicated server-side, retries are safe.
Every automated step has a manual override in the front-desk web app. The kiosk never creates a dead-end — staff can complete any step from any terminal on the network.
The kiosk captures the insurance card number (typed or photographed). The system queries the insurer API and returns coverage status within 2 seconds, before the patient leaves the kiosk.
Yes. High-acuity walk-ins complete a 30-second fast-lane check-in (name + chief complaint + urgency flag) and are immediately prioritised in the queue regardless of arrival order.
No. The kiosk operates locally. If internet drops, check-in continues without insurance verification. Verification catches up automatically once connectivity returns.
