A medical check-in kiosk handles the entire patient arrival sequence — identification, registration, intake, consent, insurance, and queue — in a single 90-second kiosk session, before the patient takes a seat.
Medical centres operate on tight consultation schedules. A 15-minute appointment cannot absorb 8 minutes of check-in delay without running the clinic behind from the first patient. Medical check-in automation recovers that time.
Patients indicate whether they are seeing a GP or a specialist (or are pre-assigned by appointment). The kiosk routes to the correct queue and displays doctor-specific wait times.
Returning patients have their previous medical history, medication list, and allergy record pre-filled. They confirm or update — they do not re-enter from scratch.
Kiosk can prompt patients to visit the self-service vitals station (BP, weight, height) before check-in completes. Vitals auto-attach to the visit record.
Patients photograph lab reports and imaging CDs at the kiosk on recall visits. Results are attached to the visit record and flagged for the clinician.
Specialist referral letters photographed and parsed at check-in. Referring doctor, diagnosis, and referral date extracted and structured in the clinical record.
Patients can trigger an emergency fast-lane at any point in the check-in flow. Kiosk alerts reception and the on-call doctor simultaneously. Emergency patients bypass the standard queue.
Consultation start-time compliance improves by 25% after kiosk deployment
Medical history accuracy improves when patients directly confirm their own data
Vitals capture rate at kiosk reaches 85% vs 40% when staff prompt
Emergency escalation time reduced from 5 minutes to under 60 seconds
Medical check-in kiosk integrates with medical practice management systems via HL7 FHIR R4. Appointment data is pulled from the PMS at kiosk startup; patient matching uses IC number, passport, and phone as composite identifiers. Vitals data from the self-service vitals station is written as FHIR Observation resources linked to the visit Encounter. All integrations are included in the implementation contract.
MOVO-X integrates with all major Malaysian and regional PMS systems (Avixo, ClinicAssist, DoctorOnCloud) and international standards (Epic, Cerner) via FHIR. Custom integrations are built as part of implementation.
A dedicated "I need urgent help" button is always visible. Pressing it triggers an immediate alert to reception and the on-call clinician, bypasses the queue, and unlocks the consultation room door if smart-lock integrated.
Patients can see and confirm their own demographics, allergy list, and current medication list on the kiosk. Full clinical notes are not visible to patients on the check-in kiosk — those are accessible via the patient portal.
All data is stored in FHIR R4 format in the clinic's own Supabase instance. Clinics own their data and can export it as FHIR bundles at any time. Vendor lock-in is prevented by design.
Yes. Paediatric mode captures the parent/guardian as the responsible party and links their consent to the child's patient record. Child-specific intake forms and anthropometric fields are available.
